Tai Chi and Pakua Retreat

Friday July 14,
through Jul 19
Adults

This retreat is ideal for any teen or adult who wants to develop a strong and healthy body, a clear and focused mind, and who is on a path toward spiritual awakening (or would like to be on such a path).

At this retreat you will learn and practice according to your own individual level of experience in Taoist medical, meditative or martial arts. And you’ll learn in a manner that is sensible and practical for your own levels of physical and mental fitness.

If you are a brand-new beginner to these arts, Master Sbarge’s experience having taught almost 10,000 new students will serve you well. Don’t worry if you have health issues, less than stellar fitness, or have never tried learning something like this – the focus will be on what you can do and the benefits you can gain, not on any shortcomings. Age is not a factor – he has taught students as young as three, and as old as 99 (the 99-year-old was the mother of one of his young 75-year-old students).

If you are already experienced in qigong, meditation or internal martial arts you will be challenged to move out of your comfort zone and push yourself to new levels of realization and skill within these practices.

They are part of the few teachers worldwide who have attained the highest level of Ashtanga Yoga teaching accreditation and are certified by Pattabhi Jois to teach the original Ashtanga method.

Darby’s teaching is dynamic and direct while giving students the essence of the energy of this yoga. His wisdom and warmth attract a vibrant community of students who are drawn to his humor, his attentive nature and his steadfast commitment to improving each student’s physical alignment. Darby gives workshops all over Europe, Canada, Asia and the United States. In 2003, he released his video, The Ashtanga Yoga Primary Series.

Joanne is a source of inspiration to many yoga students around the world. For her, yoga goes beyond the asana practice…it is a way of life. After so many years of practice, she truly believes in the power, benefits and the transformative effect of the ashtanga yoga method.
